Playground Cleanup! (10/16)

On the third Thursday of each month (weather permitting), there will be a playground clean up helmed by ISD Green Team for any and all who would like to participate. Gloves and bags will be provided, so no need to bring your own.

Next one will happen on Thursday, October 16th. There’s currently a significant amount of debris, trash, and plastic litter on the playground that needs to be cleaned up. Let’s work together to restore a safe and clean play space for our students.

No sign up needed, please just show up to help!

Halloween Hoot is less than TWO WEEKS AWAY (10/24)!

Get ready for an evening full of thrills, treats, and community cheer!

Date: Friday, October 24th

Time: 5:00 - 7:00pm

Location: ISD Gym & Blacktop

A (surprise) dance performance is on the schedule, starring a few very recognizable faces from ISD. Who could it be? Come find out - and then join us all on the dance floor for a school-wide boogie at 5:50pm.

Head to the gym for the Crazy Science Show that promises to be spooktacular - two time slots this year: 5:10-5:45 p.m. and 6:10-6:45 p.m. (sign-up below required to attend!).

Parent Social Art Auction

This year’s Parent Social Auction has something truly special - artwork created by our very own stars: your kids! Students in KG, 3rd, and 5th grade are bringing their creativity to life, and we’ll be following their artistic journeys every step of the way.

This week, we’re checking in on KF and 3P, who are already diving into their art adventure. Both classes are hard at work crafting one-of-a-kind masterpieces that you’ll be able to bid upon at the auction.

Watch the newsletter for photo sneak peeks so you can cheer them on as their colorful creations come to life!

Look at what the PTA has already accomplished - and what’s next! No time like the present to join.

From funding the Ice Cream Social & Movie Night, grade-level coffees, classroom recess grants, field trips to Greenwich Botanical Center, Stamford Museum and Nature Center, and bringing in the Westchester Circus Arts for our school-wide assembly, the PTA has been busy making amazing things happen for our kids in just one month. There's more to come in the next month with a fun night at Halloween Hoot, and trips to Yale Art, Pequot and Stepping Stones Museums!

But here’s the truth: only 195 families have joined. We've got a lot more ground to cover.

When everyone is part of the PTA, every child benefits. Join today and help us keep the momentum going! Avail of the discount to our popular Parent Social & Auction on November 15th by becoming a member.

PTA in Action: Highlights!
First Grade Visits Greenwich Botanical Center (Cost: $959.20)!

This past Friday, our first graders had the opportunity to visit the Greenwich Botanical Center. It was a beautiful sunny day for these enthusiastic students to get out into nature and use their different senses to make observations between the forest and meadow habitats using scientific tools such as a view finder to record their findings. A native caterpillar and egg casings from a praying mantis were some favorite sightings!

The PTA’s support of $959.20 provided an enriching experience for our students, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of the natural world. Thank you to the PTA Enrichment Team for working behind-the-scenes to coordinate the effort.

Westchester Circus Arts visits ISD (Cost: $3,200)!

On Thursday, October 9th students in all grades experienced a trip to the circus within our very own ISD gym! The children not only saw juggling with rings and umbrellas, but were able to assist the ringmaster with his juggling act. Students also saw a unicyclist, tightrope walker, a roper, and an amazing acrobat and chair balancer who balanced on chairs all the way up to the gym ceiling!

Thank you to our PTA Enrichment Team (Leslie Rogers, Sunitha Prasannakumar, Rita Seifert-Rodrigues) for coordinating this wonderful arts program for our students, and to the PTA for funding this initiative at a cost of $3,200.

Staff Hospitality Lunch Hosted by Grade 5 (Cost: $200)

Our amazing 5th grade families rolled out the red carpet for our dedicated teachers with a special October appreciation lunch! From delicious dishes to heartfelt thank-you's, it was a wonderful way to celebrate the hard work and care our educators bring to the classroom every day.

Thank you to all who helped make it a memorable event! The PTA contributes $200 towards the monthly staff hospitality for each grade. We love our teachers and staff!
